St. James Episcopal Church is a gift from God. Assembly required.

YOUTH
The youth ministry at St. James is faith-based and fun. The calendar of events is comprehensive and filled throughout the year. Activities range from worship and fellowship to social service projects and mission trips. The aim of the youth ministry is to bring boys and girls closer to Christ and to assist in their spiritual growth. Children and teens who participate in St. James' youth ministry develop a moral compass and an ability to choose when confronted by temptation, peer pressure and other wordly concerns.

SINGLE ADULTS
Single adults find numerous opportunities at St. James to use their gifts and talents, and to put their faith into action. Among activities that engage and inspire single adults at St. James are the music ministry (choir, bell tower ringers), spiritual ministry (Daughters of the King, Brotherhood of St. Andrew), and outreach ministry (Austin Street Centre, White Rock Center of Hope). Single adults are instrumental to the entire scope of parish activities, providing both leadership and heavy lifting.

FAMILIES
Family units are crucial to any congregation of believers. Wisdom accompanies the adage that "the family that prays together stays together." Among parish activities that feature high levels of family participation are Sunday worship services, Sunday School classes, and Wednesday night worship services followed by fellowship dinners. Families are also the focus of group activities like the annual parish camping trip and a neighborhood block party called "McCree Espirit."

EMPTY NESTERS
Empty nesters typically undergo a significant change in lifestyle once their children are grown and living apart. Volunteer work can be a coping mechanism that eases the transition and creates a renewed sense of purpose. Empty nesters enrich St. James to no small degree, playing prominent roles in ministries ranging from caring and nurturing (Stephen Ministers, Order of St. Luke, Lay Eucharistic Ministry) to administrative matters (Office Vounteers, Website Development, St. James Epistle).

RETIREES
Many parishioners add value to their golden years through volunteerism. If anything, members of this demographic tend to increase their participation in, and commitment to, parish life. Retirees lend expertise accumulated through years of experience to ministries as diverse as the Flower Guild, St. Joseph's Guild (woodworking), St. Catherine's Guild (cooking) and to evangelism and welcoming activities. For fellowship, St. James retirees attend monthly meeting of the Supper Club and Serendipity Group.
