LAY EUCHARIST MINISTRY

WHO WE ARE:
Lay Eucharistic Ministry

What we do:
When the earliest disciples gathered to break bread together as instructed by our Lord, it was common practice for people to take a portion home to their family members who were too sick or elderly to attend so that they would be included in the Feast. We are blessed with the privilege of sharing the Body of Christ with those members of our parish family who are not able to attend Sunday worship services. We are sent out to do this work after Sunday Eucharist, as an extension of the altar rail, to share the Bread of Heaven and remind those we visit that they are part of a family of God that cares for and loves them. We embody and emphasize the reality of the church as a community of people united in their faith if Jesus Christ.

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME:
You will be scheduled one Sunday every six weeks or so. Most Sundays there is only one LEM scheduled, however if the visitation list has more than 2 people on it, another team member will help out.
