WHO WE ARE:
We are parishioners with the desire to actively live the St. James Mission Statement. Our committee is dedicated to determining how best to use parish resources to serve others and to spread the Good News of God in Christ, whether those resources be time, talent, or treasure. In addition to determining how to spend budgeted funds and special contributions, we help plan, organize, and support mission and outreach projects in the parish. Our goal is to get every member of St. James to participate in mission and service activities in whatever way God calls us.
WHAT WE DO:
- Allocate the operating budget and special fund contributions for mission and outreach to
various parish-supported agencies and projects.
- Aid in planning, organizing, and supporting parish projects in the areas of service and mission, both domestic and international.
- Help others find information and resources for mission and outreach activities.
- Support the activities of the diocesan World Mission Commission (WMC) and provide the communications link between the parish and the WMC.
WHEN AND WHERE WE MEET:
We have regular quarterly meetings on the second Monday in January,
April, July, and October and special meetings as needed for specific projects, generally in the conference room.
WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME:
- Belief in the St. James Mission Statement and a desire to serve.
- Willingness to help others learn about mission and outreach.
- Attendance at quarterly meetings and special meetings for projects with which you are involved.
- Participation in mission or outreach activities as you feel called.
