ST CATHERINE'S GUILD

WHO WE ARE:
We are a caring group of women and men who enjoy providing a home-cooked meal to parishioners in need.

WHAT WE DO:
We are often called a day or two in advance to prepare and deliver a meal to individuals and/or families who have been unable to cook for themselves usually due to illness or hospitalization. We also provide food for funeral receptions at St. James Parish Hall or food for the family in the days surrounding the funeral. If we are providing food for a funeral reception, we usually deliver the food platters and assist in the setting up of tables, tablecloths and general reception décor. We will also provide general reception cleanup. Funeral receptions are simple and solemn affairs.

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME:
We are expected to be able to provide a wholesome and tasty meal within a day or two of being contacted. We deliver these meals in disposable containers along with heavy duty paper plates and plastic silverware. We expect no thank you's to be written, as we do this out of love and caring.
We must do our best to help with funeral receptions. Everyone in the guild is contacted and asked to provide simple reception food. We also need to do our best to assist in the set up and clean up of the reception. Thanks be to God that we rarely have funeral receptions. But, we must be aware that we are needed during this most sorrowful time.

WHEN & WHERE WE MEET:
We don't usually have meetings. We simply make ourselves available to cook and deliver meals when the time arises.
