BELL RINGERS

WHO WE ARE:
We are an eclectic group of parishioners who celebrate our love for God and his church through the unique Anglican tradition of Change Bell Ringing.

WHAT WE DO:
We have a great deal of fun 'making a joyful noise unto the Lord'. We ring in celebration after the 8:00 & 10:00 mass, weddings, and other special events. In our own tradition, we ring a call to worship before the 10:00 service on St James' original three bells. We also toll the passing of loved ones and for other somber occasions.

WHEN & WHERE WE MEET:
We have two practices per week; Basics/Fundamentals from 6:45 to 7:30 Tuesday evenings Advanced/methods from 11:00 to noon Saturdays.

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME:
Bell ringing is an art/skill that requires a high level of dedication to learn and develop. Newcomers must complete a rope handling course that takes an average of 8 weeks, after which a 3-4 week course on ringing before being able to practice with the band. Once you have joined the band, you will not be required to attend every practice session, but, practice is critical in developing the skills needed to ring consistently, especially the first year. The initial training is private, personal, and flexible.
