WHO WE ARE:
The International Order of St. Luke the Physician is made up of clergy, health professionals, and lay people who feel called to make Jesus'
Ministry of Healing a regular part of their vocation. We believe we are one Body in Christ with a variety of expressions and healing is an essential part of the teachings of Jesus Christ.
WHAT WE DO:
We are dedicated to serving the needs of our parish and the community by offering healing prayer and laying on of hands. It is our purpose to hold healing services, to teach believers
how to be a part of Jesus' healing ministry through written material and group study. We seek to enable the spiritual nurturing of our members, and to teach our members how to nurture others. We see both physical and inner healing as a major part of such nurturing, and see this kind of nurturing as a need which continues throughout an individualšs life.
WHEN AND WHERE WE MEET:
Our St. James Chapter meets on the second Thursday of each month in the conference room from 7-9 pm. We begin with prayers in the chapel before having a business meeting and finishing with continuing education.
We offer a non-denominational Public Healing Service on the second
Saturday of each month in the chapel at 5 pm. This service consists of praise music, healing prayers, communion (some of the time) and laying on of hands as well as a healing witness or discussion time.
Training sessions are held on the fourth Thursday from 7-9 pm. A new training class will begin in September and last for about 6 months.
WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME:
We study healing stories from the scriptures and read three books from the required reading list. Trainees are asked to attend the chapter meetings and healing services, and are required to attend one healing mission.
