St. James is a growing church serving the Lake Highlands and White Rock Lake area of Northeast Dallas. We are a close-knit church family where God is present, where the Bible is faithfully taught and where you can grow in your faith and in fellowship with other Christians of all ages.

We want your visit to our church to be a warm and welcoming one. If you are new to the area, to St. James or even to the Christian faith we hope that the following will answer some of your questions. In addition to this page you can listen to a sermon, read about what we believe, subscribe to our James Journal and also just browse our site to get a better sense of who we are and what God is doing in our midst.

What time are the services?

There are two services every Sunday morning – 8 a.m., which is a said service (no music), and 10 a.m. Look for the designated visitor parking spaces in front of the church.

How do I get to the church?

See Driving Directions

What should I expect when I arrive?

As soon as you enter our main church building look for one of our friendly greeters or ushers to help you find a seat. Please fill out a visitor card so we can write you back. Please do join us in Parish Hall after the service for coffee and a snack.

What about my kids?

Children are encouraged to participate in Sunday worship. Our Children’s Church, for ages 3-7, begins at 10:05 a.m. Children start the service in the main sanctuary, then move to the chapel during the opening hymn. Sunday School classes for children and youth (as well as adults) begins at 9 a.m. in classes adjacent to the Parish Hall. Junior High, (grades 6-9) and Senior High youth meet in a separate building on the campus. See the campus map.

What about communion?

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion at all services. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion, including children. If you do not want to receive or do not want your children to receive you are welcome and encouraged to come forward for a blessing or simply remain in your seat.

How long will the service last?

The service lasts about an hour. The 10 a.m. service may last a little longer. Please do introduce yourself to the clergy as you exit and stop by the Parish Hall for refreshments and to meet the many people that congregate there.

Do you have a nursery?

Yes, the nursery is free of charge and is located just off the Parish Hall. It is available from 8:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for children three and younger.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably for the season of the year. “Sunday best” attire is optional; most parishioners choose to wear casual clothes to Sunday worship services, Sunday School classes and other church events.
