International Order of St. Luke

WHO WE ARE:

The International Order of St. Luke the Physician is made up of clergy, health professionals, and lay people who feel called to make Jesus’ Ministry of Healing a regular part of their vocation. We believe we are one Body in Christ with a variety of expressions and healing is an essential part of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

WHAT WE DO:

We are dedicated to serving the needs of our parish and the community by offering healing prayer and laying on of hands. It is our purpose to hold healing services, to teach believers how to be a part of Jesus’ healing ministry through written material and group study. We seek to enable the spiritual nurturing of our members, and to teach our members how to nurture others. We see physical healing, inner healing and spiritual healing as a major part of such nurturing, and see this kind of nurturing as a need which continues throughout an individual¹s life.

WHEN AND WHERE WE MEET:

Our St. James Chapter meets on the second Thursday of each month in the conference room from 7-9 pm. We begin with prayers in the chapel before having a business meeting and finishing with continuing education.

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME IF I WISH TO JOIN OSL:

We study healing stories from the scriptures and read three books from the required reading list. Trainees are asked to attend the chapter meetings and healing services, and are required to attend one healing mission.

The center for Christian healing is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas. It provides support, seminars, teaching events, and healing and prayer opportunities for the Parishes, Missions, and Order of St. Luke Chapters within the Diocese. In keeping with the diocesan strategic plan, the Ministry also has the goal of raising up transformational leaders in the fields of prayer and healing for the furtherance of Christ’s mission in this Diocese.
