Adult Education

adult_education_imageSt. James offers opportunities for adult education throughout the year. These include traditional adult "Sunday school" classes as well as Bible studies, Growth Groups, and more. Our goal in being disciples is that we may be "presented as those who are mature in Christ." (Colossians 1:28)

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

"Deepening Your Prayer Life" will be taught by The Rev. E. Clifton Gardner on Sunday mornings at 9:00 in the conference room.

WEDNESDAY EVENING STUDY

A study of "The Revelation to John" on Wednesday, 7:15 pm Wednesdays.  Last class for this series will be January 9th in the Parish Hall.  This 8-week course will examined the history, mysticism, and apocryphal message of the last Book of the Christian Bible, and focused on its meaning for today's troubled world. The imagery of this enigmatic little book is fantastic and God's prophecies ring eerily true.  Come learn the truth about the "Close of the Age" -- your Bible and your presence is all that's required.

THURSDAY NIGHT

CHURCH CHICKS NIGHT OUT continues Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall.  Ladies:  Bring a brown bag meal or snack, your drink of choice, and your Bible as we wind down our study of "The Blessed Woman" and begin "Recalling Our Own Stories" based on the book by Edward Wimberly.  Since we can't begin to heal others without healing ourselves, we'll examine those myths (we all carry some) that keep us from experiencing life in its fullest.  We'll discuss personal, marital and ministry myths, plus intriguing case studies that help us turn the negative myths we carry into positive, honest change.  Come and share with your Sisters in Christ on Thursday evenings!  It's fun, feminine fellowship and a break from the busy-ness of our lives as women, wives, and mothers.
