WHO WE ARE:
The Communications Team supports St. James by getting the word out about parish activities, including the work of our clergy, volunteers and various ministries. In addition, our team helps with community outreach through maintaining the stjamesdallas.org website and handling special promotions and public relations.
WHAT WE DO:
We manage a variety of functions related to communications:
- Produce the James Journal weekly electronic newsletter
- Maintain the church website
- Create promotion materials for special events (i.e., Holy Week)
- Handle PR and media relations
Most of all, we have FUN!
WHEN & WHERE WE MEET:
We meet everyTuesday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.. either in person in the St. James Conference Room or aconference call for those who need to phone in. At this meeting, we share information on what’s taking place at the parish and decide how we will publicize the information. We also work together to distribute the workload so everyone may participate and no one takes on too much.
WHAT’S EXPECTED OF YOU:
We ask that our volunteers make an effort to attend our weekly meetings so you may stay engaged and help pitch in on the weekly workload. This ministry is open to everyone and with the variety of activities we undertake, we have an opportunity for every type of talent. This is also a great group to join if you’d like to learn more about our parish, website development, blogging and design. You’ll also get a chance to meet members of our congregation.
HOW EVERYONE CAN HELP:
We ask that ALL ministries and individuals serving on committees within the parish help us as well by providing stories, information, special events, calendar updates, and pictures for the web. We will meet with you to explore opportunities to use the web to support your ministry.
